Object based audio

Whether in a modern museum, a live performance or a theme park – the audience should receive an audio-visual experience that really makes an impression. Pan Immersive 4D Audio brings listeners into immersive worlds and take audiences on unique sonic journeys.
With Pan Immerse 4D Audio, audio objects (sound sources) can move through 3-dimentional space completely independently from each other. This can be done using live and/or pre-recorded content – linked (automated) to video content, to tracking systems and/or controlled manually or by cues.

A real boost for creativity in audio productions

Audio objects can have all kinds of different properties, behaviors, sound contents and can be controlled individually or in groups. Pan Immerse 4D has a very intuïtieve user interface, allowing work on multiple screens but also allowing control tablet or mobile phone.

A production can be pre-produced, content produced in one venue can be saved and played in another venue where the content is automatically made suitable for playback in the new, generally different, room-configuration. (loudspeaker positions)

For venues like theme parks controls can be made very easy, for example by starting a full production with a single push of a button. Here the movement of sound objects may be happen through pre programmed paths. In other cases movement may be controlled manually, driven by cues, by persons equipped with a tracking device, etc. (or a combination of the above.)


Objects, can move freely within a space independent of the loudspeaker positions and without disturbing artifacts.
This is achieved with the help of wave field synthesis (WFS), an advanced technology enabling precise control of sound (wave) fields. The flexibility created by WFS allows for the creation of a large variety of customized, immersive audio experiences, as for concerts, theater performances, movies, virtual reality and many more.


Even more creative possibilities become available when Pan Immerse 4D will be combined with ACS variable room acoustics. This allows for playback of a production in a nice and fitting acoustical environment. An environment that will also be available for live sources (as musicians) that may be part of a production

High-performance and reliability

The heart Pan Immerse 4D Audio – is a customized hardware and software platform, uncompromised laid out for reliable real live multi-channel performance. Pan Immerse 4D Audio is available in three versions to meet the most common requirements.
Ranging from a small number of channels including playback engine to a system with 160×128 (in x out). Again including playback engine for live sound applications.

Wide range of audio and control interfacing is available, including MADI, Dante/AES67 and OSC.

Room configuration

Loudspeakers will be required to make this all possible. These will be distributed throughout the room, typically mounted on or in ceilings and walls.
This should be done at sufficient density. The density, as well as the loudspeaker type and size is depended on the intended purpose , required sound pressure level as well as he location.
Because this is an immersive audio installation, it will be clear that it concerns a a large number. Generally the number and the type is comparable with what is required for ACS variable acoustics. When both applications are desired (most) loudspeakers will also be used for both.

ACS is part of the Pan Acoustics group that also offers an extensive range of active and passive loudspeakers. For example the CX Series that was developed with Pan Immerse 4D and ACS Variable Acoustics in mind. In some cases also Beam Steering loudspeaker can be used to improve the directional experience, the behavior over distance and/or reduce the influence of the natural acoustics
